Friday Night At The New Deal Cafe

Posted

The show on Friday night at The New Deal was GREAT! Tom Espinola rocked our world! We had more fun at that show than any Celtic rock band has a right to. One of the coolest things about the show was that we had a lot of fans show up that were seeing us live for the first time. One person in particular emailed her friend rob (frontman of our sister band, ilyAIMY) with this to say… About tinsmith: I really really liked the concert, the music made me think of rolling hills in Ireland and raindrops on endless grass and then the distorted electric guitar comes in and it’s like a flock of innocent birds flying over the hills suddenly morphing into a flock of snipers exploding on the grass and mixing with it in clouds of grassy mayhem, and then the flute comes back and restores the scene to dew drops on the grass. It’s not a bad thing, just very unique and eclectic.

Cancelled: Paloma’s, July 19th

IMPORTANT! Tinsmith WILL NOT be appearing tomorrow night, July 19th, at Paloma’s. The venue management scheduled a national act to headline for the evening, thus bumping ilyAIMY (the original headliner) into the opening slot. We are, of course, disappointed but we are looking for to another performance with ilyAIMY on October 25th at the Year of the Rabbit Coffee Pub

Man! We had such a great time at the Potomac Celtic Festival! It just rocked! There were lots of great bands, everyone on the staff was super-nice, and you guys, our fans, were just beyond cool! And the new CD ‘Jigsaw’ arrived just in time… Well, actually, John had to actually chase the UPS guy down in his van to get them, but now we’ve got them. They’ll be available for order from this site in just a few days, but if you just can’t wait you can get them from The House of Musical Traditions in Takoma Park, MD 301.270.9090

“Jigsaw” Is Almost Here!

Just a few more days ’til the release of the new Tinsmith Album “Jigsaw”. We’ve been looking forward to this for a long time and finally the time is upon us… We had some great musicians in the studio with us this time ’round. Henry Cross, former member of the band Big Village played some rippin’ bass for us. No less rippin’ five string madness was imbued by rob of the acoustic folk/rock juggernaut ilyAIMY. We also had one of the best djembe drummers on the east coast, Jaqui MacMillan (also one time member of Big Village). Keep checkin’ with us though the next few days and we promise to let you know as soon as we have them!
